A journey down the coast stopping at Mazara, Bimah Sink Hole, Qalhat (Miriam’s Tomb) with a picnic lunch at Mokallah Beach. In Sur, visit the shipyards and maritime museum. We'll see the old dhows hand built as they have been for generations. Camp out at Ra’s Al Hadd and see green turtles nesting on the beach. The following day continue along the coast to the bluffs at Ad Daffah and into the interior, visiting the Rashid Al Hamoda Mosque, Bedouin camps in the desert woodlands (Wahibah Sands). Stop at Al Mansfah, the old mercantile community, before returning to Muscat through the mountains via the Sumail Gap.

Travelto the interior via Fanjah and Izki, stopping in Nizwa for a stroll through the Old Quarter and continue to Al Hamra. Stop at the old village of Ghul to see the abandoned Persian ruins and travel up the canyon to Nakhr to meet the villagers. From Ghul, drive to the top of the canyon near the summit of Jebel Shams and camp out near the rim. Visit local weavers and haggle for their wares. BBQ dinner and campfire near the canyon rim. On the second day, after breakfast, hike down the canyon rim 1 km above the valley floor to the abandoned terraces and cliff dwellings. Return to camp for picnic lunch before returning to Muscat.

A journey to the past leading through the Sumail Gap to Nizwa, Bahla, Jabrin and on to Ibri. See spectacular fortresses and castles and markets of the past and present. On the second day, visit the ruined city of Sulaif and the Beehive tombs of Bat before passing through the mountains at Wadi Bani Ghafir, through Rustaq on the fringe of the Northern Hajar Mountains and back to Muscat.

Travel to Fanjah and through the Sumail Gap. Stop to see village life in Sumail. Continue on to Rawdah and the pit weavers of Al Akdar. Picnic lunch in the shade of date plantations. View Bronze Age ruins at Lizq before driving to the Wahibah Sands. Enjoy a Bedouin BBQ then dune bashing and camel rides. Sleep under the stars in a Bedouin camp. Depart for Wadi Bani Khalid for a hike and swim in clear water pools or take an extended hike through the canyon.
