Day 1 (Saturday)        LISBON / OBIDOS / ALCOBAÇA / NAZARE / BATALHA / FÁTIMA
Depart Lisbon through a landscape rich with fruit trees and beautiful windmills. Arriving in Obidos surrounded by medieval walls to admire the architecture, the handicrafts and taste some famous Ginginha (bitter cherry liqueur). Next is Alcobaça with the first and largest gothic church in Portugal, housing the tombs of D. Pedro and Inês de Castro, known for their love story. Following this enjoy a stop in Nazare, a typical fishing village, before continuing to Batalha to visit the Monastery of Santa Maria de Victoria - a masterpiece of the Gothic style. Visit the tomb of Henry the Navigator, promoter of the maritime discoveries. Upon arrival into Fatima visit the famous Marian Shrine with the possibility to assist in the Candle procession. Accommodation.
 
Day 2 (Sunday)          FATIMA / COIMBRA / AVEIRO / PORTO
Breakfast and then departure to Coimbra, visit of the one of the oldest Universities in the world! Visit its magnificent baroque library with ancient traditions, such as the black cape of the students and the melancholic Fado music. Next visit the St. Clara Church and the tomb of Queen St. Isabel” and in the city centre admire the ceramics of Coimbra. In the afternoon continue to Aveiro, the city of the canals known as the “Portuguese Venice”, there will be time to see the “moliceiros” boats and taste the local sweets “ovos moles”. Continue to Porto. Accommodation.
 
Day 3 (Monday)         PORTO GUIMARÃES / BRAGA / PORTO
Breakfast and then a tour of Porto, declared a world heritage city by UNESCO. Tour the riverside, old houses, palaces, churches and enjoy some Port wine! Continue to Minho, a region of northwest Portugal that offers lush green sceneries and sparkling “green wine”. Start in the city of Guimarães, birthplace of the 1st king of Portugal, and walk through the historic centre. Visit the Sacred Hill, adorned by a Castle as well the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança, the original building dates back to the 15th century. Next drive to Braga known as the "Portuguese Rome" for its concentration of religious architecture, visit the oldest Cathedral in the country and the “Bom Jesus do Monte”.Accommodation.
 
Day 4 (Tuesday)        PORTO / SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA / PORTO
Breakfast before setting off for Santiago de Compostela, the capital of Galicia and the centre of pilgrimage located at the end of the Santiago Way. In 1985 UNESCO declared Santiago de Compostela World Cultural Heritage, take the entire day to discover this fascinating city on your own. Wander its historical streets, learn about its extraordinary monuments and sample some of the local dishes. Accommodation.
 
Day 5 (Wednesday)   AMARANTE / VILA REAL / VALE DO DOURO / LAMEGO / URGEIRIÇA
Breakfast and then depart to Amarante, a pretty town in the region of São Gonçalo, known for the promotion of love and marriage; next drive to Vila Real to visit the gardens of the manor of Mateus. Following this enter the Port wine region, travelling through vineyards and the breathtaking landscapes of the Douro Valley. Stop in Lamego, overlooked by one of Portugal's most important shrines, “N. S. Remédios”. Maybe try one of the local delicacies the famous “Bola de Lamego”. Continue to the mountainous hinterland and Viseu, the centre of the Dão Vineyards and a city connected with Portugal´s oldest hero, Viriato, the Lusitanian chief. Arrival to Urgeiriça. Accommodation.
 
Day 6 (Thursday)       URGEIRIÇA / BUSSACO / TOMAR / LISBON
After breakfast drive through the heart of Portugal to Bussaco, well known for the dense forest and plants of exotic beauty, continue onto Tomar. The city of Tomar is closely linked to the Order of the Templars, who received these lands in 1159 as a reward for the assistance they gave Dom Afonso Henriques (the First King of Portugal). It was Dom Gualdim Pais, the first Grand Master of the Order in Portugal, who founded the castle and the remarkable Convent of Christ inside. Enlarged and altered over the centuries, this retains the influences of various architectural styles; it is the centrepiece of the city and classified as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Continue to Lisbon. END OF TOUR.
